When we think of starfish we don't tend to think the word pest, but just like the cane toad is on land the crown of thorns starfish can be somewhat of a pest in our waterways. In small doses this starfish is good as it feeds on fast growing corals and helps to regulate the diversity within coral reefs; however, if there are too many within one area it soon becomes an issue and the crown of thorn starfish can devastate a reef.
