Let's go!

First we are going to practice working with area and perimeter just to make sure we are comfortable before we design our house. You will need graph paper, if you don't have any you can print some by clicking HERE.

We know that the perimeter is the distance around the outside, while the area is the total surface inside the space.

For your first activity you will need graph paper and dice. Roll your die twice and use those numbers as the length and width to make a rectangle. Draw the shape on your graph paper and next to it write the perimeter and the area. If you don't have physical dice click the picture of the dice to use virtual ones.

Complete with a partner checking each others work and the first one to reach 200cm² is the winner!
